Do you want to teach your children about God and the Bible, but are not sure how to make certain you’re covering the main topics? The Ology, by Marty Machowski, can help. This book has been around for a while, but I just found out about it.
The Ology: Ancient Truths Ever New is geared toward 5–12-year-olds. It would be helpful for families to use in family devotions or for homeschooling families who want to add theology to their curriculum. The book includes a parent guide for early elementary students and upper elementary students. This book can also help teens and adults gain a framework for a biblical worldview.
Contents include The Ology of God, people, sin, promise, law, Christ, Holy Spirit, adoption into God’s family, change, church, end times, and God’s Word. Each of these has subtopics of 2-6 pages each. Drawings by Andy MacGuire enhance the text. Several scripture references are included on each illustration page.
Younger children will simply enjoy the text and pictures. As children mature, they will benefit from the questions at the back of the book about the text and about the included scriptures on the illustration pages. Answers are also included at the back of the book.
